Asphalt Driveway Paving

A driveway is the first thing people see and the last thing most homeowners want to think about twice. Magnum lays new residential asphalt driveways, widenings, and full replacements across the Greater Toronto Area with the same crews and equipment we put on commercial jobs — so you get clean edges, proper drainage, and a surface that still looks sharp a decade from now.

Most driveway failures start underground. We strip the old surface, regrade and compact the base for positive drainage, then lay hot-mix asphalt to the right depth for a residential load — never the thin, single-lift shortcut that alligators within a couple of winters.

Because Magnum runs its own crews and pavers, the team that quotes your driveway is the team that paves it. No subcontractor handed your property sight unseen, no surprise change in scope once the trucks arrive. You get a line-itemed price up front and the number we quote is the number you pay.

Magnum Paving is an asphalt paving contractor serving Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. The company runs its own in-house crews, carries $5,000,000 in liability insurance with full WSIB coverage, and holds a 5.0-star rating from 25 verified Google reviews.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a new asphalt driveway take to install?
Most residential driveways are completed in a single day once the base is prepped. We recommend staying off it for 24–72 hours and avoiding sharp turns or heavy loads for the first few weeks while the asphalt cures.
When is the best time to pave a driveway in the GTA?
Asphalt paves best in warm, dry conditions — typically May through October in Ontario. We pave outside that window when temperatures cooperate, but booking early in the season locks in the best scheduling.
Can you pave over my existing driveway?
Sometimes. If the base is sound, an overlay can work; if the surface is badly cracked or heaving, a full replacement lasts far longer. We'll tell you honestly which one your driveway actually needs.
